Nigel Adkins talks about his long-term future at Hull City

Hull City boss Nigel Adkins is out of contract at the end of the season.

The former Scunthorpe United and Southampton manager is still yet to be offered a new deal by the Tigers.

He took over at the KCOM Stadium in December 2017 on an 18-month contract and guided the club to safety in the Championship last season.

Adkins’ side made a slow start to this campaign and were bottom of the table in October. However, an impressive run of form has seen them rise into the top half. Many Hull fans believe he deserves a new contract now.

Adkins has been speaking about the situation, as per Hull Live: “It’d be nice to try and build for the future but i’d do that anyway”.

“If I’m not here, someone else will be. So, you still put the structure in place if you can to make things smooth. At some stage I’ll leave the football club. We all know how football is, it’s quite a volatile industry that we live in.”

“That’s the unfortunate side of things but you want to build a legacy if you can and be part of something. There is a good bond with the supporters and the team, which is important, and we want to keep that moving forward. There’s always going to be obstacles in the way but you have to get over them the best you can.”
