Lichaj out, Clark in?- Nottingham Forest could be set for swap deal with Hull City

Nottingham Forest defender Eric Lichaj is in advanced talks over a move to fellow Championship side Hull City, as reported by The72 earlier today.

The 29-year-old right-back is set to leave the City Ground in search of more regular first-team action for next season. He only played 21 games for the Reds in the league in the last campaign.

Hull City, who have already lost their captain Michael Dawson to Nottingham Forest earlier this summer, are hopeful of completing a move to Lichaj. However, this could mean that another of their defenders, Max Clark, could be set for the exit door as well.

Clark has been heavily linked with a move to Nottingham Forest when his contract expires at the end of the month. He has been offered a new deal by the Tigers but has still not signed it. Other clubs like Millwall and Vitesse Arnhem have been linked with him as well.

The 22-year-old could be on his way to Forest and Lichaj could potentially go the other way. Clark broke into the Hull first-team this season after making his debut on the opening day away to Aston Vila. The left-back went onto play 35 games for them in all competitions. He had spent previous seasons on loan at Cambridge United in League Two.

Transfer deals between Hull City and Nottingham Forest continue to brew away with Lichaj closing in on a move to the KCOM Stadium and Clark’s future still in limbo. It is looking likely that a swap deal could be on the cards.
